Salman Khan, who was last seen in Dabangg 3 (2019), is currently shooting for his forthcoming film Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai. Helmed by Prabhu Dheva, the movie is scheduled to release on Eid 2020. Since Eid is not very far from now, the superstar is working day and night to wrap up the film on time, before it goes into post-production.
Rumours are doing the rounds that Salman Khan was recently approached to headline the much-delayed project Sare Jahan Se Achcha, which is a biopic based on the life of iconic astronaut Rakesh Sharma who is the first Indian man to have landed on the moon.
However, if reliable sources are to be believed, there is no truth to this casting rumours floating around. “Salman Khan has not been approached to play Rakesh Sharma. At the moment, producer Siddharth Roy Kapur is making every effort to rope in an A-list actor,” a source in the know informs a publication.
It looks like the biopic on Rakesh Sharma will not make it to celluloid any time soon. The project has gone through a number of cast upheavals in the past two years and is yet to get any actor onboard. The movie first went to Mr. Perfectionist Aamir Khan, but he could not take up the role as he was busy with other projects.
Aamir Khan, however, recommended the biopic to Shah Rukh Khan, who agreed initially but walked out of it after the epic failure of his much-ambitious film Zero (2018). The project then went to Ranbir Kapoor, who has decided to do no biopics in future, after playing the real-life character of Sanjay Dutt in Rajkumar Hirani’s Sanju (2018). Reportedly, Vicky Kaushal was also approached for the same role, but he preferred to play Udham Singh in Shoojit Sircar’s film on the revolutionary freedom fighter.
