It’s not exaggerated to say Ranveer Singh is now one of the most successful A-list celebs of B-town thanks to the glory of his back-to-back hits Simmba and Gully Boy. Recently rumours mills were abuzz with the news that Ranveer would be roped and also replace Shah Rukh Khan in the third installment of the hit franchise Don. However, Zoya Akhtar went on to respond to the speculation.
In a recent interview with Pinkvilla, the Gully Boy director said, “No, no. That’s absolute nonsense.” Earlier, rumor had it that King Khan who previously worked in Don and Don 2 had backed out of Don 3 and Rakesh Sharma biopic after the flop of Zero. However, none of them Shah Rukh Khan and director Farhan Akhtar has confirmed anything.
For those unversed, Ranveer seems to be Zoya’s favorite as the actor-director duo teamed up twice in the past with the film Dil Dhadakne Do and box office hit Gully Boy where he was all praised for his rapping ability.
Workwise, the Padmaavat actor is now busy with shooting for his upcoming film 83 which is based on the real milestone in the history of the Indian sports industry, the first cricket world cup win of the nation in 1983.
Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan was earlier supposed to star in Rakesh Sharma biopic though he reportedly changed his mind in the last minute and speculation is rife that Vicky Kaushal is about to replace him.
