Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone, who were last seen together in the Imtiaz Ali directorial Tamasha (2015), are one of the most loved onscreen pairings of Bollywood. The ex-couple has not done any project after Tamasha. But if latest reports are to be believed, Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone might join forces together very soon.
We all know that after Inshallah got shelved, filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali announced another film Gangubai Kathiawadi. The upcoming project will feature Alia Bhatt, who was set to play the female lead in Inshallah. Reportedly, Bhansali is planning to add more weightage to the period drama by roping in some leading actors in special cameo appearances.
Rumours were rife lately that Ajay Devgn would also essay an important role in the movie. The latest we hear that Sanjay Leela Bhansali is considering signing Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone for two important cameos in the movie. What makes the news even more interesting is the fact that Ranbir Kapoor is currently dating Alia Bhatt and watching them together on celluloid is definitely going to be a major attraction for all their fans.
The Saawariya (2007) actor also shares a cordial relationship with his ex-girlfriend Deepika Padukone. It is going to be a visual treat for fans to see the three together on the big screen. If Kapoor agrees to come onboard, it will be his second film with Alia Bhatt after Dharma Productions’ much-delayed Brahmastra which may release in summer 2020.
Currently in pre-production stage, Gangubai Kathiawadi is set to be yet another massively mounted film from the house of Sanjay Leela Bhansali Productions. The team is looking at beginning production soon. It is tentatively slated to arrive in cinemas on September 11, 2020.
