Priyanka Chopra: Glorification Of Trolling Leads To Bullying And Depression, Adds "Pressure" On Entertainers

Priyanka Chopra has always walked to the beat of her own drum. But the actress says glorification of trolling has added "crazy pressure" on entertainers.

Although global star Priyanka Chopra is known for her nonconformity and always marches to the beat of her beat, she feels glorification of trolling has added “crazy pressure” on artists. She even emphasises that the increasing prevalence of trolling culture only leads to bullying and depression.

During a recent interview, the Bollywood-turned-Hollywood diva opened up about the negative impact of the glorification of trolling culture on entertainers. On being asked about the pressure that comes with the 'global star' tag, Priyanka said,

The Bollywood diva has faced the pressure from digital world more occasions than one - for instance for her fashion choice, for bursting firecrackers at her wedding ceremony last year or being called out as global scam artist whose relationship with Jonas was influenced more by a desire to further her career than love.

Priyanka, who came back to India for both professional and personal front, listed a serious peril coming from the trolling culture.

According to former Miss World 2000, trolling culture is the only pressure which she feels ‘sometimes is unnecessary but being put on’ a public personality.

She admitted that she has been living her own life, but sometimes, other people's feelings made her concerned when it comes to being a public figure.

Priyanka Chopra was last seen in Isn't It Romantic?, which will stream on Netflix for the Indian audience starting February 28. Her upcoming project is Shonali Bose's The Sky Is Pink, which is expected to release in October this year.
