Preity Zinta, who started her acting career back in the late 90s, remained one of the most sought-after actresses of Hindi cinema for over a decade. During her heyday, she worked with all the leading heroes of Bollywood and delivered a series of blockbusters, including Har Dil Jo Pyaar Karega (2000), Chori Chori Chupke Chupke, Koi Mil Gaya (2003) and Veer-Zaara (2004).
However, Preity Zinta could not sustain her stardom for long and by the time she completed a decade in showbiz, her films had started performing poorly at the box-office. After starring in a few run-of-the-mill movies, the actress took a self-imposed break from movies. She was last seen in comic-caper Bhaiaji Superhit (2018), which released years after being made.
If latest reports are to be believed, Preity Zinta is set to begin afresh in Bollywood. She has reportedly signed a new film which will be produced by well-known filmmaker Ashutosh Gowariker. The film is said to be a light-hearted tale about the theatrics between a woman and her father-in-law.
Well-known actor Paresh Rawal, who played a double role in cult comedy Andaz Apna Apna (1994), is set to play a double role once again in the upcoming film. Besides playing the father-in-law, he will essay one more character in the yet-to-be-titled project.
a source informs an Indian daily.
According to reports, the upcoming venture will be directed by one of Ashutosh Gowariker’s assistants. The film will be set in Mumbai. An official announcement is awaited.
