Priyanka Chopra, in December 2016, has become the UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador. However, an online petition in Pakistan recently has been getting up against the star to remove her as the Goodwill Ambassador of UNICEF.
As per a report published in The News International, they summited the petition as the actress congratulated the Indian Air Force for the surgical strike 2.0 on Pakistan taking place on 26 Feb 2019.
For the uninitiated, on early Tuesday, India struck the Jaish-e-Mohammed’s (JeM) – the biggest training camp at Balakot- caused the death of “a very large number” of the terrorists and their trainers. It was an act of revenge to the Pulwama terror attack martyring over 40 CRPF jawans on Feb 14.
After the strike, actress Priyanka Chopra took to social media to tweet, "Jai Hind #IndianArmedForce”. The petition said that even though Chopra is the UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, she cheered for war and therefore, they seek her removal. They have also tagged the UNICEF and the UN in their petition.
The petition was published on website Avaaz.org.
