Be it Priyanka Chopra, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan or Irfan Khan, not only do they grace the domestic silver screens, but also have cooked up a storm in the West. Not all of them started their career with Bollywood, but right in Hollywood for their beginning.

Priyanka Chopra Jonas
The first name must be Priyanka Chopra who is touted as an A-list in both Bollywood and Hollywood. Following the spectacular triumph of the actress at Miss World 2000, the former beauty queen then got numerous film offers. Today, her career has spanned for nearly two decades.
The diva won a National Film Award for the role in the film Fashion, a Padmashree Award, and many more prestigious awards.
2006 was noted with an entirely new position of PeeCee as she was appointed as national and global UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador for Child Rights.
Her Hollywood journey started in 2015. The actress got off a flying start with the role of Alex Parrish in the super hit television series Quantico. She was also the first South Asian actor to play a lead role in an American series.
Freida Pinto
The list could not be complete without mentioning Freida Pinto. She probably sets the ultimate example for one of the biggest “Indian to America” stories. Her major breakthrough was with the multi-award winning movie Slumdog Millionaire.
Since then she has become one of the most sought-after faces of many British and American film productions. Post the success of Slumdog Millionaire, she continued to win the heart of the audiences with noteworthy performances in films like Rise of the Planet of the Apes, Trisha, and Desert Dancer.
Kunal Nayyar
Hails from a Punjabi family in London but raised in New Delhi, India. Kunal Nayyar decided to move to Portland and the US to pursue higher education in Business Administration in the year 1999. During his college time, the actor enrolled himself in various acting classes and a frequenter of many plays as well as theatre festivals.
Thanks to the role Rajiv Joseph in the play Huck & Holden, Kunal first stole the Hollywood spotlight. However, what made his popularity skyrocket and boosted him into a big name was of the role in the popular sitcom The Big Bang Theory.
In 2015, Nayyar made it to top 3 the World’s Highest-Paid TV Actors by Forbes.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan
Aishwarya perhaps needs no introduction. Her enormously successful career in Hindi film industry caught attracts much notice of English film director Gurinder Chadha. However, the beauty pageant has truly gained international recognition since she appeared in one of the most well-known chat show Oprah. She was then invited to David Letterman’s The Late Show.
The diva is also a regular at the world-leading Cannes Film Festival. Not just this she is also a must on the annual list of the World’s Most Beautiful Women.
Irfan Khan
Bollywood legendary Irfan Khan has done each of us proud in the West. His tryst in Hollywood started with remarkable films like The Darjeeling Limited and A Mighty Heart. He also slipped into shoes of a police officer in film Slumdog Millionaire.
Khan’s most anticipated role in Hollywood was hands down the role of Dr Rajit Ratha in 2012 blockbuster The Amazing Spider-Man.
He also had several internationally acclaimed films like Life of Pi, Inferno and Jurassic World to his credit.
