The #MeToo movement in India bloomed and came like a storm after actress Tanushree Dutta opened the floodgates. Tanushree alleged that Nana Patekar touched her inappropriately and set goons on her during "Horn 'OK' Pleassss" shoot in 2008.

After that, it led to a row over sexual harassment related to many big names in Bollywood such as Vikas Bahl, Anu Malik, Sajid Khan, Anirban Blah, Gursimran Khamba, Alok Nath, Chetan Bhagat, and Kailash Kher.

Since then, the hashtag has become a rallying call against sexual harassment, with multiple women speaking out.

On the wake of the ongoing #MeToo movement in Bollywood, Cine and TV Artists’ Association (CINTAA) opened a press conference. They announced that they are planning to tackle the issue of sexual harassment through setting an anti-harassment committee. The committee will have over 50% representation by women.

They are drafting proper guidelines on sexual harassment and define good conduct, misconduct and harassment. CINTAA guarantees to give repercussions and punishment for the harassers and pledges to take steps to prevent sexual harassment.
