Meezaan Jaffrey Reveals He Was A Stand-in For Ranveer Singh's Alauddin Khilj In "Padmaavat"

During a recent interview to Filmfare, Meezaan Jaffrey revealed that he was stand-in for Ranveer Singh in 2018 blockbuster Padmaavat.

Famous actor Javed Jaffery’s son Meezaan Jaffrey, who is all set to make his Bollywood debut in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming movie Malaal, revealed that he was a stand-in for Ranveer Singh in 2018 blockbuster Padmaavat.

During a recent interview to Filmfare, Meezaan Jaffrey said that while he was assisting Sanjay Leela Bhansali on the period drama, the director found it hard to shoot some scenes without Ranveer on the sets so he asked him to be the stand-in.

Meezaan added that he starred as a stand-in for Alauddin Khilj in 2 scenes of Padmaavat.

Earlier, the rumors of Meezaan Jaffrey and Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan's granddaughter Navya Naveli in a relationship had been doing the rounds on social media after Navya posted a photo of her and Meezaan twinning in blue and white outfits and captioned it 'love you' along with a tag,  #RelationshipGoals.

However, Meezaan immediately shut down all the rumors, claiming that he and Navya are just good friends.

Coming back to Meezaan Jaffrey’s debut film, he will be sharing the screen space with Sanjay Leela Bhansali's niece Sharmin Segal in Malaal, which is a remake of 2004 Tamil movie 7G Rainbow Colony. Helmed by Mangesh Hadawale and produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Malaal tells the love story of Shiva and Astha, who both come from contrasting backgrounds and is slated to hit the cinema on 5th July.
