"Laal Singh Chaddha" & "Bachchan Pandey" Avert Box-Office Clash

“Laal Singh Chaddha” stars Aamir Khan in the lead role, while “Bachchan Panday” is headlined by Akshay Kumar. Both films were earlier set to release on Christmas 2020.

Laal Singh Chadha, starring Mr. Perfectionist Aamir Khan, will now have a solo release at the box office on Christmas 2020. The superstar took to his Twitter handle to share the great news with his fans. Khan wrote that Akshay Kumar has changed the release date for his much-awaited next release Bachchan Pandey which was set to lock horn with his film Laal Singh Chaddha.

Laal Singh Chadha was slated to hit the marquee alongside well-known filmmaker Sajid Nadiadwala's Bachchan Pandey, but Aamir Khan revealed that after a conversation with Akshay Kumar and the production company, Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment, Bachchan Pandey will now enter theatres on new release date. The Akshay Kumar starrer will now arrive in cinemas worldwide on 22^nd January, 2021.

Thanking Kumar for his gesture, Aamir wrote on Twitter that sometimes all it takes is one conversation. In his tweet, he thanks Akshay Kumar and Sajid Nadiadwala for their warm gesture of moving the release date of their film Bachchan Pandey at his request. The superstar wishes them the very best for their film and said that he is looking forward to it.

The makers are hoping to avoid a box office clash since both films are big commercial releases. Laal Singh Chaddha is an official remake of the Hollywood Classic Forrest Gump (1994) starring Tom Hanks in the lead role. Khan acquired the remake rights of the film early last year and released the first look of the film in November 2019.

Written by Atul Kulkarni, the movie is helmed by Advait Chandan and also stars Kareena Kapoor Khan. It will be produced by Viacom18 Studios and Aamir Khan Productions. Laal Singh Chaddha is now scheduled to hit cinemas during Christmas 2020 as a solo release.
