The media has been paying Karan Johar and his new project a whole lot of attention after there was an announcement of him getting over romantic film genre and working on a period drama instead. The drama is reportedly said to see the assemble of much top class and brilliant actors, namely Kareena Kapoor Khan, Ranveer Singh, Vicky Kaushal, Alia Bhatt, Bhumi Pednekar and Janhvi Kapoor.
After Kalank did not perform so well, Takt has reportedly been postponed because Karan Johar aspires to work on the whole script again. Despite that, it is alleged that Takht will start to be filmed in February next year.
Besides, director Karan Johar is trying his best to make sure that he won’t do Takht wrong like with Kalank. He will play the host in the acting workshops for the actors about “diction and body languages” in order for them to thoroughly understand the tinge of their characters.
As reported by Mirror, the on-screen images of everyone will not have any similarity. For instance, for this film, Vicky Kaushal and Ranveer Singh will work on a leaner look while Anil Kapoor must gain some weight. Takht is a historical drama which gets the inspiration from the battle between Shah Jahan’s sons, Aurangzeb and Dara Shikoh, for the king crown.
Kareena Kapoor Khan will take the part of the Mughals’ First Lady and the actress will also be the on-screen sister of Vicky and Ranveer. Meanwhile, Janhvi Kapoor and Bhumi Pednekar’s roles are not yet taken to the light. However, it is assured that filmmaker Karan Johar will surprise the fans and movie industry with his big plan.
According to Mirror,
Before Takht, Karan Johar had pulled off his directing work in Ae Dil Hain Mushkil starring Ranbir Kapoor alongside Anushka Sharma. The film did a good job in terms of box office.
