John Abraham Plays Top Cop In Controversial "Batla House" Encounter Case

John Abraham's "Batla House" will clash with Akshay Kumar's "Mission Mangal" and Shraddha Kapoor's "Saaho" on Independence Day. Who will be the winner in this battle?

John Abraham will be seen in a real-life incident film Batla House, a film based on the chilling encounter of Indian Mujahideen terrorists which took place on 19 September 2008 at Batla House of Jamia Nagar in New Delhi.

The teaser which was released on Twitter shows John Abraham as the top cop leading the investigations of the case. Two suspected terrorists were shot down in the encounter while two others were arrested and one person had managed to escape.

The encounters led to a massive uproar in the country leading to violent protests against the government. It was also alleged that the encounter was fake which led to of innocent youths.

The teaser starts with an audio clip of Delhi police officers sending a message to the police control room that they have heard gunshots and require a backup team to handle the situation inside Batla House. Following which shows two youths firing gunshots at the police officers leading to the encounter. John Abraham is dressed as a cop who is trying to assess the situation.

The film has been directed by Nikhil Advani. The star cast includes Mrunal Thakur, Praskash Raj, and Ravi Kishan. John Abraham will be essaying the role of IPS officer Sanjeev Kumar Yadav who had headed the operation when he was posted with Delhi police.

The film will be released on August 15 and will face a clash with bigwigs Akshay Kumar's Mission Mangal and Shradhha Kapoor's Saaho.
