Janhvi Kapoor believes that her love for pre-era film will help her connect with story of Takht very naturally.

Janhvi Kapoor has a fantastic year ahead with her RoohiAfzana with Rajkummar Rao, Dostana 2, Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl followed by period drama Takht. Her digital debut Ghost Stories on Netflix received great response. Since her debut in 2018, Janhvi Kapoor is now unstoppable with back to back promising films. Recently, during an interaction with a leading daily newspaper revealed that she has started learning Urdu and Kathak.

Multi-starrer film Takht is being considered as path breaking movie with stars Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal, Anil Kapoor and Bhumi Pednekar in it. The movie requires Janhvi Kapoor to deliver dialogues in Urdu. But she believes that the era in which Takht's story has been pulled is very fascinating for her. She mentioned that though the film was supposed to go on floors a year later, the actress started preparing for her role much before.

She also said that, her love for pre-era films such as Mughal-E-Azam (1960), Pakeezah (1972), Umrao Jaan (1981) led to her obsession for such films and she relates to them. She felt that her role in this film will come to her naturally due to her love for such cinemas. Talking about her role in second part of Dostana, she revealed that the cult film which broke barriers in 2009 about gay love will be full of fun, energy and glamour. She hopes that the second part will match the standards of first installment. She said that the second part would be completely different and will be little more on emotional front.

However, Janhvi Kapoor feel that its stupidity to put labels on films by dividing cinema into commercial or art. The films which came in 2019 and previously had honest and fresh topics to talk about. The films she is doing in 2020 will have variety of topic and will give a message in genres such as comedy, horror or drama.
