Gully Boy, featuring actor Ranveer Singh and actress Alia Bhatt in the pivot roles, officially hit the theatres today. Under Zoya Akhtar's superb direction, the movie has created the high-pitched buzz in the industry after its exclusive premiere at Berlin Film Festival 2019 and Mumbai recently.
Gully Boy's attraction lies in the dramatic trailer, the quirky but exciting soundtrack and Ranveer and Alia's on-screen chemistry. Currently, the film also receives another good news when pre-booking at the box office is running smoothly before its official premiere.
According to KoiMoi's report, 25 - 30% of Mumbai theatres' seats have been pre-booked, signalling a good start at the box office.
Similarly, Delhi-NCR's box office is working favourably as its advanced booking reaches 20 - 25% shows. However, Gully Boy attracts a large number of urban audiences. Therefore, the multiplex cinemas have received much better feedback than small movie theatres.
Meanwhile, in Bengaluru, approximately 35% of the film’s shows are ‘filling fast’ wherein several shows are full.
Surprisingly, Hyderabad is in the most terrific mode with 40% shows filling fast.
Likewise, the Chennai box office also works exceptionally effectively. In spite of being a region with limited shows, the audiences' advanced booking here stands on 37 - 40% shows.
On the contrary, Pune has received a modest response with 12 - 15% shows in the ‘houseful’ mode.
Eventually, the weakest result belongs to Kolkata region. Its box office gets a cold response from the viewers when most shows are in the ‘green’ zone, i.e. available.
Apart from Ranveer and Alila, Gully Boy also featuring Kalki Koechlin, Vijay Raaz and Siddhant Chaturvedi.
