Although Shahrukh Khan film has received poor reviews for the inconsistent screenplay, it still makes it to top 10 Globally Highest Grossing film of 2018

The most recent movie of Shah Rukh Khan, ‘Zero’, was released on 21 December 2018 and so far, it has received mixed reviews from critics and perhaps failed almost instantly. The film is much expected for the reason that it was directed by Anand L Rai and features Shah Rukh Khan, the King of Bollywood. With a budget of Rs 200 crore (approx. US$29 million), ‘Zero’ is SRK’s most expensive film to date.

‘Zero’ follows Bauua Singh (Shah Rukh Khan), a 38-year-old man with dwarfism who struggles to find a spouse. In spite of the shortage in height, the man is big on love. The film illustrates the story of how he meets two different women with whom the love triangle forces him into an adventure to explore both the true love and completeness in life and live it to the fullest.

The SRK – Anand L Rai duo after a long time is the reason for the film release’s high expectations from fans. After ‘Jab Harry Met Sejal’, King Khan came back on screen with ‘Zero’, which is promised to be a mega-hit with superb visual effects.

Despite the fact that the film was praised particularly for the performances of Shahrukh Khan and Katrina Kaif and its cool VFX, it has received poor reviews for the inconsistent screenplay. The high expectations for the film resulted in the revenue of Rs 20 crore, however, it seems like the evidently disappointing quality of the film does not live up to the expectation, and thus the movie underwent a dip in the first weekend only. ‘Zero’ could hardly fill up all the seats and word of mouth even worsened it further.

As much of a flop as it is, the movie has managed to surpass the infamous Stree, starring Rajkummar Rao, at the box office with the revenue of Rs 178 crore.

Reportedly, it has become the 10th highest grossing film of 2018 globally. Take it or leave it, but here’s the top 10 list.
