Deepika Padukone Expresses Her Admiration To Kapil Dev’s Wife Romi Dev

Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone's ‘83 has been the talk of the town since the makers announced the project. The film revolves around the inspirational journey of Indian legendary cricketer Kapil Dev from his childhood days to the 1983 World Cup victory.

During a recent interview with Mumbai Mirror, Deepika Padukone, who is set to portray Kapil Dev’s wife Romi in the biopic, talked about her preparation for the part.

Deepika Padukone shared that she had met Romi Dev several times to get the nuances of her character right. Describing Romi as “an extremely refreshing energy”, Deepika said that she feels inspired whenever she met her.

The 33-year-old diva is also excited when having the chance to get into the shoes of Kapil Dev’s wife, who played a very important role in his success.

Touted as the biggest sports film of the country, ‘83 is helmed by director Kabir Khan and also features Jatin Sarna, Saqib Saleem, Pankaj Tripathi and Tahir Raj Bhasin in the supporting roles. The film is all set to hit the big screens on 10 April 2020.

Apart from that, Deepika Padukone will also be seen in Meghna Gulzar's Chhapaak, which is based on the life story of attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal. The film also stars Vikrant Massey in the male lead and is scheduled to release on 10 January 2020.
