"Chhapaak" Early Reactions From Critics: “2020 Has Its First Winner”

Deepika Padukone’s upcoming film Chhapaak has turned out to be a hotly anticipated film recently and fans are waiting with bated breath to watch the film. Chhapaak which is adopted from the life of an acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal is considered a tale of triumph and hope and it’s slated to unfold on 10 January. However, the movie is now being screened early for journalists and film reviewers before the commercial release and it’s well worth the wait as a positive response is being flooded on social media.

Chhapaak portraits vividly the journey of an in-real-life acid attack survivor and her battle in different phases on the silver screen. Bollywood star Deepika steps into the shoes of Laxmi with the name Malti.

Marking the return of Deepika Padukone after a nearly two-year hiatus, Chhapaak is like a treat of her fans and also proves the actress a force to be reckoned with in the Hindi cine industry. The film also marks her production debut. Earlier, rumors were rife on the financial support of Ranveer Singh (Deepika’s husband) in this project, but the actress soon went on to clear the air and affirmed that she made this film on her own money.
