National Film Awards 2019 has witnessed many surprises and honors from both Bollywood celebrities and the audience. On August 9th, all the winners of the 66th National Film Awards were set in the platform that hit the headlines. See the details below!
Best Actor Award
This award is one of the most expected and prestigious one of the National Film Awards and it was given to two of the top-list Bollywood actors. While Ayushmann Khurrana won the award for his role in Andhadhun, lovable star Vicky Kaushal bagged it thanks to his literal performance in Uri: The Surgical Strike.
Best Hindi Film National Award
This reputable award was offered to the 2018 blockbuster Andhadhun which stars Ayushmaan Khurrana and Radhika Apte.
Best Actress Award
This award called the name of famous actress Keerthy Suresh for her well-performed character in Telugu film Mahanti.
Best Director Award
Alongside the Best Actor Award for the main actor Vicky Kaushal, Uri: The Surgical Strike brought another illustrious award for its director Aditya Dhar.
Best Popular Film
Passing a year, Badhaai Ho featuring star Ayushmann Khurrana supplied the wholesome entertainment award to win the award of Best Popular Film.
Best Film on Social Issues Award
The film Padman with the appearance of superstar Akshay Kumar in the pivotal role won the award of Best Film on Social Issues.
Best Supporting Actress Award
The Best Supporting Actress was awarded to none other than Surekha Sikri for her excellent feature in Badhaai Ho which won the Best Popular Film award.
Best Choreography
Mentioning about choreography, we can recall right away to the song Ghoomar in Padmaavat. National Film Awards did think the same when Kruti Mahesh Midya and Jyoti D Tommar bagged the Best Choreography award.
There were also other awards to respect the filmmakers and actors for their contribution to the entertainment industry. Besides the main award, Uri: The Surgical Strike itself took the Best Sound Designer award, K.G.F: Chapter 1 won the Best Action award, singer Arijit Singh gained the victory in the Best Male Playback Singer for his song Binte Dil in Padmaavat and the film also presented Sanjay Leela Bhansali the Best Music Director award winner.
National Film Awards this year collected the concentration around the film Andhadhun when it won the Best Adapted screenplay. The Best Supporting Actor award was renown by Swanand Kirkire for his role in Chumbak. While the Best Assamese Film award came to Bulbul Can Sing, Baaram bagged the Best Tamil Film award and the Best Malayalam Film award went to Sudani from Nigeria.
