Arjun Kapoor Teams Up With Father Boney Kapoor To Topline “Comali” Remake

Arjun Kapoor, who was last seen in Rajkumar Gupta’s “India’s Most Wanted”, is presently busy with the post-production work of Ashutosh Gowariker’s much-anticipated period drama “Panipat”.

Arjun Kapoor, who was last seen in the Rajkumar Gupta-directed espionage drama India’s Most Wanted (2019), will soon join hands with his filmmaker father Boney Kapoor.

Yes, you heard it absolutely right! Boney Kapoor has on Saturday announced that his son Arjun Kapoor will play the male lead in the Hindi remake of blockbuster Tamil film Comali (2019).

Senior Kapoor, who recently remade Bollywood film Pink (2016) in Tamil, has acquired the remake rights of the Jayam Ravi and Kajal Aggarwal starrer film.

Helmed by Pradeep Ranganathan, Comali hit the silver screen on 15th August, 2019, and emerged as one of the most successful films of the year. It earned over Rs. 40 crores at the cash counter.

Boney Kapoor said in a statement.

For the Hindi remake of the much-loved comic-caper, only Arjun Kapoor has been confirmed so far. The rest of the cast is yet to be announced.

Arjun Kapoor, meanwhile, is looking forward to the release of his first period film Panipat. Made on a massive budget, the historical war drama is based on the third Battle of Panipat between Ahmed Shah Abdali’s army and Marathas led by Sadashiv Rao Bhau.

Besides Arjun Kapoor, the movie also features Kriti Sanon, Sanjay Dutt, Zeenat Aman, Padmini Kolhapure and Mohnish Bahl on its cast.

Panipat is poised for its theatrical release on December 6, 2019.

Arjun Kapoor will also be seen in Yash Raj Films’ Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar. The film reunites him with Parineeti Chopra after Namaste England (2018).

Directed by Dibakar Banerjee, the film has faced multiple delays in its theatrical release. The makers are expected to announce the new release date soon.
