Amitabh Bachchan has shown interest in making a biopic on social activist Palam Kalyanasundaram. His son Abhishek Bachchan may play the younger version of the activist.

Amitabh Bachchan is one of the busiest actors even at the age of 77. With his energy and enthusiasm, the millennium star can easily give younger actors a run for their money. Amitabh Bachchan was last seen in Badla (2019). Also starring Taapsee Pannu in the lead role, the movie went on to emerge as one of the most successful films of the year.
After the release of Badla, Big B moved on to shoot for his upcoming films, including Jhund, Chehre and Brahmastra. The latest we hear that he has shown interest in a biopic. Yes, you heard it absolutely right! According to reports, Amitabh Bachchan has evinced interest in making a biopic on social activist Palam Kalyanasundaram.
For the unversed, the revered social activist from Tamil Nadu spent all his life’s earnings, including the amount of ₹ 30 crores awarded to him as part of the ‘Man of the Millennium’ honour, on social causes. He also laid the foundation of Palam Foundation to help the poor and needy in society.
Now, apparently, Big B is interesting in making a biopic on the social activist. He is said to have been moved by a book on Palam Kalyanasundaram. The megastar has also reportedly said that his son Abhishek would play the younger Kalyanasundaram in the biopic.
According to reports, Bollywood Producer Paran Adarsh met the social activist recently and discussed the possibilities of a biopic with him. If all goes well, the biopic will be made in Tamil and Hindi. Rumour also has it that National Award-winning actress Vidya Balan may join the cast to play the young mother of the protagonist.
Since superstar Rajinikanth adopted Palam Kalyanasundaram as his father in 2012 and kept him at his house Poes Garden, parts of the film may be shot at his residence also. An official announcement is highly awaited.
