Lal Bagcha Raja means "The King of Lalbaug" is the most famous Sarvajanik Ganapati pandal kept at Lalbaug in Mumbai. A prominent locality in Mumbai during the Ganesh Chaturthi festival.
The idol is kept for public display for 11 days; thereafter it is immersed in the Arabian sea at Girgaum Chowpatty on the auspicious day of Anant Chaturdashi.
It is believed that this idol of Lord Ganesha is Navsacha Ganpati which means the "one who fulfils all wishes", and hence over 1.5 million people visit this Ganesh Pandal daily during the 10-day Ganesha festival. In 2019, the Lalbaugcha Raja Ganpati entered 85 years.
The first look of Ganpati shows a dynamic backdrop featuring video clips of ISRO's Chandrayaan launch and the solar system. Two artificial astronauts can also be seen around the Ganesha idol. A lunar rover is also dangled in front of the towering statue.
