The very famous Lal Bagcha Raja has always been an attraction for everyone. Be it common man or celebrity, everyone aspires to visit this famous Ganesh Pandal.

Lal Bagcha Raja means "The King of Lalbaug" is the most famous Sarvajanik Ganapati pandal kept at Lalbaug in Mumbai. A prominent locality in Mumbai during the Ganesh Chaturthi festival.

The idol is kept for public display for 11 days; thereafter it is immersed in the Arabian sea at Girgaum Chowpatty on the auspicious day of Anant Chaturdashi.

It is believed that this idol of Lord Ganesha is Navsacha Ganpati which means the "one who fulfils all wishes", and hence over 1.5 million people visit this Ganesh Pandal daily during the 10-day Ganesha festival. In 2019, the Lalbaugcha Raja Ganpati entered 85 years.

The first look of Ganpati shows a dynamic backdrop featuring video clips of ISRO's Chandrayaan launch and the solar system. Two artificial astronauts can also be seen around the Ganesha idol. A lunar rover is also dangled in front of the towering statue.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan every year visits Lalbaugcha Raja where she sought blessings from the elephant god.


Aishwarya looked completely ethereal as she shone brightly in a dazzling red saree and a blouse with a golden border. She tied her hair in a low bun with a gajra tied around it whereas a small bindi and sindoor complemented her look.

The first one from Bollywood to make headlines by visiting the Lalbaugcha Raja to seek his blessings was none other than our desi girl, Priyanka Chopra.


Dressed in blue salwar kameez, Priyanka paid obeisance to Mumbai’s Raja. Taking to her Instagram account, the actress informed her fans about her successful darshan to the deity.

Ajay Devgn was also seen bowing his head in devotion in front of the Lalbaugcha Raja idol. Accompanying him was Baadshaho director Milan Luthria, who sought the blessings of Lord Ganesha for the success of their film.
