Markandey Katju Reacts On Comedian Kunal Kamra Row

Controversy surrounding comedian Kunal Kamra and television anchor Arnab Goswami is yet to end. Now, Justice Markandey Katju have slammed the airlines for banning Kunal Kamra to fly with them. Katju was also Chairman of Press Council of India and served as a permanent judge at Supreme Court. For the unverse, Kunal Kamra heckled Arnab Goswami inside IndiGo flight and had recorded the video. He later posted it on his social media pages and received huge support from the netizens.

When the video clip went viral, four airlines namely, Air India, IndiGO, GoAir and SpiceJet banned him from flying through their airways. However, aviation regulatory body have ordered an internal enquiry into the matter and a report will be submitted to them by the airlines within 30 days. Leading to severe criticism on social media, it is likely that these airlines will reconsider their decision to cancel the ban. Arnab Goswami is known to be a staunch supporter of right wing group and as per his usual style have heckled several activists and left wing supporters. Kunal Kamra has always been promoting ideologies of left wing.

Markandey Katju said that Kunal Kamra deserves praise for questioning Goswami. He also said that he will indulge in his worst behaviour if he bumps into Goswami inside a flight. He asked his followers to shame Goswami wherever they find him. He also challenged the airlines to ban him if he indulges into similar activity. After which Captain of the flight in a statement released said that he was disheartened to learn that IndiGo has taken action against Kunal Kamra on the basis of social media posts. He also said that such behaviour does not amount to banning for six months. He asked a clarification from the airlines in this regard.
