Vijay Makes Donations Of ₹1.30 Crore Towards Coronavirus Relief Fund

Vijay, one of the leading actors in the Tamil film industry, has come forward to do his bit in these trying times. He has donated ₹1.30 crore towards Coronavirus Relief Fund.

Vijay is one of the leading actors of Tamil cinema, who has a number of successful films to his credit. The superstar keeps hitting the headlines for his movies every now and then. But this time around, the superstar is in news for his philanthropic work.
In a time when a lot of celebrities from various industries are coming forward to lend their support in our fight against the Coronavirus pandemic, superstar Vijay has made a donation of ₹1.30 crore towards Coronavirus Relief Fund.
As per a statement, the actor has donated ₹25 lakh towards PM-Cares Fund, ₹50 lakh towards Tamil Nadu CM Relief Fund, ₹10 lakh to Kerala CM Relief Fund, ₹25 lakh to Film Employees Federation of South India (FEFSI), ₹5 lakh each to the CM Relief Funds of Andhra, Telangana and Karnataka apart from ₹5 lakh to Puducherry. The statement further mentions that Vijay has also donated some amount to the welfare of members of his fan clubs in Tamil Nadu.
Last seen in the Atlee directorial Bigil (2019), which went on to rake in over ₹300 crores at the cash counter, Vijay next stars in the upcoming Tamil film Master. Also starring Vijay Sethupathi, Malavika Mohanan and Andrea Jeremiah, the film has been directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj.
Malayalam actress Malavika Mohanan, who made her Tamil debut with the Rajinikanth starrer Petta, plays the female lead in Master, while Vijay Sethupathi will be seen as the antagonist. Master was scheduled to arrive in theatres on 9th April, 2020. However, the movie had to miss its theatrical release due to the Coronavirus lockdown across the country.
Speculations are rife in the tinsel town that the superstar may also collaborate with filmmaker Sudha Kongara for his next directorial offering. Reportedly, talks are already on between the two and an official announcement could be made after the lockdown is lifted.
