Mammootty is all set to rock the mega screen by another period drama. The actor revealed the first look poster of his upcoming film Mamangam.

The film is based on the 17th Century festival Mamangam in which the warriors known as Chaverukal (Suicide Warriors) is trained to assassinate the Zamorin rulers of South India.
In the poster, the 67-year-old actor is looking as fierce and sharp as he was in his 1989 legendary film Oru Vadakkan Veeragatha. Sharing his poster on Instagram account, the actor wrote, "Mammootty... First, look poster of period drama #Mamangam... Directed by M. Padma Kumar... Produced by Venu Kunnappilly... All set for release in the last quarter of 2019 in #Malayalam, #Hindi, #Tamil, and #Telugu."
The film hit a stalemate when there was a production halt due to creative differences between the producer Venu Kunnappilly and director Sanjeev Pillai. Then Pillai was replaced by the Joseph fame director Padmakumar. As per reports, Sanjeev had only completed 10% of the film even after two schedules of the shoot. This marked a fallout between him and the producer who then decided to rope in Padmakumar.
The sequence of the film are set by Bollywood veteran Sham Kaushal and they are promised to be a treat for the eyes. Besides Mammootty and Unni Mukundan the other actors are Siddique, Suresh Krishna, Manikkuttan and Achutan.
On the work front, Mammootty's fans were left in utter disappointment when the release of his new film Unda was postponed to 14th June. The movie was planned to be released on Ramzan but some last minute post-production hurdle forced the film to extend by another one week. Directed by Khalid Rahman, Unda is an action comedy produced by Movie Mills and Gemini Studios.
