Khandaani Shafakhana

Release date: 2 Aug 2019
Starring: Sonakshi Sinha, Varun Sharma, Annu Kapoor, Badshah

The film is hailed as the only sex film for the whole family which revolved around sex clinic in India. Sonakshi Sinha will play a sexologist who is trying to make a discussion on the taboo subject of sex mainstream in Indian society. After being bestowed a sex clinic from her uncle, this girl has to run it for six months before she can sell it, which leads to a hilarious journey of a female sexologist.

Sonakshi Sinha, who is known as Lady Dabangg of Bollywood and never shies away from taking on different roles, revealed that Khandaani Shafakhana delivered the most difficult sequence of her career.

"I shot the most difficult sequence of my career in this film, where I am shown advertising the clinic in a live market. So, I was on this cycle rickshaw and behind me was a huge banner, which had 'sex’ written on it. I had to say the names of all the sex-related illnesses and I was really shy before doing it."

Jabariya Jodi

Starring: Sidharth Malhotra, Parineeti Chopra, Sanjay Mishra, Aparshakti Khurana 

The film is based on the practice of abduction of grooms (pakadwa vivah) rampant in Bihar in which the grooms used to be kidnapped by the bride’s family and forced into marriage in order to avoid dowry.

Sidharth Malhotra will be in the role of an expert in the forced wedding. But the twist happens when he meets an equally badass Babli Yadav (Parineeti Chopra). The two fall in love but Abhay decides to not marry her owing to his political ambitions. And that's when Babli decides to kidnap Abhay and forcefully get married to him.

Directed by Prashant Singh, Jabariya Jodi brings Parineeti and Sidharth together for the second time after a gap of 5 years - they earlier romanced each other in Hasee Toh Phasee.

Pranaam

The action-packed film revolves around an innocent boy somehow turns into an infamous gangster and is charged with three murders. Rajiv Khandelwal, who is remembered for performances in some hits like Table Number 21 and Aamir, plays the son of a farmer in the film. He wants to become an IAS officer and fulfill his father’s dream, but fate has other plans. With a stellar cast and interesting plot, the film is expected to take over the box office.

Chicken Curry Law

The hard-hitting social drama deals with a very sensitive subject and the moot point of multiple debates in our country – rape. The film follows the journey of a young girl Maya (Natalia Janoszek), a trained belly dancer who comes to India in search of employment but gets brutally raped and is left to die.

Her quest for justice brings two powerhouse actors, Sitapati Shukla (Ashutosh Rana) and Mutthu Swamy (Makrand Deshpande), as attorneys in a courtroom face-off. The film raises multiple questions and exposes the loopholes in our legal system.

Mission Mangal

Mission Mangal is the story of the scientists of Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) who contributed to India's first interplanetary expedition Mars Orbiter Mission (MOM). Directed by Jagan Shakti and produced by Fox Star Studios, Mission Mangal is all set to hit the theatres this Independence Day. The film will clash with John Abraham's Batla House, which is also slated to release on August 15 this year.

Earlier, the 51-year-old superstar revealed that he did Mission Mangal "especially for my daughter and children her age to familiarise them with the incredible true story of India's mission to Mars" in aa tweet.

Batla House

Release date: 15 Aug 2019
Starring: John Abraham, Prakash Raj, Mrunal Thakur, Ravi Kishan

Directed by Nikkhil Advani, the film is based on the real story of the controversial encounter of Indian Mujahideen terrorists eleven years ago in Delhi. Two suspected terrorists and an encounter specialist cop were killed while two other suspects were arrested. Some human rights organizations doubted the authenticity of the encounter. John Abraham will be seen essaying the role of Sanjeev Kumar Yadav in the investigative drama. Meanwhile, Mrunal Thakur plays the role of John's wife in the film.

Talking about the box-office tussle with Akshay Kumar's Mission MangalJohn says that he does not feel any pressure and his friendship with Akshay won't be affected by the business of their films.

Saaho

Release date: 30 Aug 2019
Starring: Prabhas, Shraddha Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Mandira Bedi

With the comeback of superstar Prabhas, Saaho is billed India's biggest action thriller and reportedly the most expensive action film in the India history with stunt sequence and visual effects. Saaho marks south superstar Prabhas' return to theatres after 2017 blockbuster  Baahubali 2: The Conclusion and makes Shraddha Kapoor's south debut.
Reportedly, in the climax of Saaho, Prabhas will battle against 100 international fighters and fans are going gaga over the film. A source revealed, "A set resembling a ruined place was erected on a 10-acre land and special black soil was strewn over it to give it an authentic desert look. A team of 100 fighters from across the globe were hired for a larger-than-life action sequence involving Prabhas and the baddies."
To avoid class with against Akshay Kumar’s Mission Mangal and John Abraham’s Batla House at the box office on the Independence Day, the filmmaker of the film has pushed the release date to 30 August.
