Pokemon has been a worldwide phenomenon for over 20 years and now, its live-action film – Detective Pikachu based on Nintendo's world of monsters has released the first trailer. It surprises fans by the cute and creepy voice of Ryan Reynolds in a “real-life” versions of Pokémon.
Detective Pikachu will take viewers on a journey through the neon-lit streets of Ryme City, a place where people and Pokemon live in harmony. The plot follows a young man called Tim pairs up with Detective Pikachu to solve mysteries. At first, he has a dream of being a Pokémon trainer, but gives up and leads a dull life as a white-collar worker.
Accidentally, he stumbles on Detective Pikachu and strangely, he is the only one to understand the meaning of repeated words "Pika Pika" of this cute creature. The two quickly make friends and team up with together to investigate Tim’s missing father and take miraculous adventures to unfold the tangled mystery and save the world.
Based on the trailer, the film stars Ryan Reynolds as a very furry version, Justice Smith as Tim Goodman, Kathryn Newton as Lucy and Oscar nominee Ken Watanabe as Lt. Yoshida.
Rita Ora, Bill Nighy, and Suki Waterhouse are believed to be on the supporting cast. The film also features a mix of human actors and CGI Pokémon.
All things considered, the new adaptation is expected to bring the family-friendly laughs when the film hits the big screens on May 11, 2019.
