Tabu Joins The Cast Of Horror Comedy “Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2”

According to reports, seasoned actress Tabu has added yet another interesting project to her portfolio. She has reportedly given her nod to play an important role in the much-awaited horror-comedy film Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2. As the title suggests itself, the upcoming film is a sequel to the 2007 box-office hit Bhool Bhulaiyaa by renowned filmmaker Priyadarshan. While the original film starred superstar Akshay Kumar and Vidya Balan in lead roles, the sequel features Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani in central characters.

A source close to the development informs a popular publication that Tabu loved the script and her role in the film and readily agreed to come onboard. “Tabu has been in talks with the makers for a while now. She loved the script and her role. She is expected to join the cast in January when the second three-month schedule kicks off in London and Rajasthan.”

Well, it is not the first time when Tabu will explore the horror comedy genre in Bollywood. In the 2017 horror-comedy film Golmaal Again, the National Film Award-winning actress played the role of Anna Mathew and received overwhelming response for her performance. “Though it is the same genre, there is nothing in common between the two films and Tabu’s character, too, is dramatically different and one of the USPs of the film,” the source added.

Buzz has it that her character is going to be a surprise element of the film. “But while Bhool Bhulaiyaa was a psychological-thriller with lots of laughs, the sequel is a proper horror-comedy with plenty of spooky moments,” the source says in conclusion.

Produced by hit filmmaker Bhushan Kumar under the banner of T-Series Films, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 is being helmed by well-known director and master of comedy films Anees Bazmee. The film is slated to roll into theatres on 31^st July, 2020.
