Rajkummar Rao To Essay Dharmendra's Role In "Chupke Chupke" Remake?

Remaking the classic movies is gradually becoming a popular trend in Bollywood. On 6 December 2019, India film industry will welcome the remake of Sanjeev Kumar and Vidya Sinha's Pati Patni Aur Woh.

The new version will have the appearances of Bhumi Pednekar, Ananya Panday, and Kartik Aaryan. Recently, it's reported that producer Bhushan Kumar and director Luv Ranjan had joined hand to bring new colors to Amitabh Bachchan and Dharmendra's 1975 comedy hit Chupke Chupke.

According to the Mumbai Mirror's report, the information that the Hrishikesh Mukherjee's comedy hit will be remade is hotter than ever. Especially when the high-profile actor Rajkummar Rao is reported to have accepted to join in the movie. Reportedly, the Bareilly Ki Barfi star will take on Dharmendra's character, the Botany Professor Parimal Tripathi. The other leads are yet to be locked in.

In the original version, Amitabh Bachchan played the role of Dharmendra’s best friend who pretends to be Professor Parimal, but actually is Sukumar Sinha who is an English lecturer.  Also, the film featured Jaya Bachchan, Usha Kiran, Keshto Mukherjee, David Abraham Cheulkar and Asrani. Except for Rajkummar, none of the new casts has been introduced.

“Chupke Chupke is an iconic film and a favorite of many, including Rajkummar. He loved the idea of a remake and has agreed to come on board. It will have Raj in the dual avatars. The script is still being finalized, while the director and the rest of the cast are yet to be locked but the team is really excited about this one," a source told Mumbai Mirror.

In the earlier of 2019, Rajkummar Rao was seen in Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh with the beauty Sonam Kapoor. On 21 June 2019, Rao will be on screen with Kangana Ranaut in Prakash Kovelamudi's comedy film titled Mental Hai Kya. After that, he will cooperate with Mouni Roy and Boman Irani in Made in China, with Nushrat Bharucha in Turram Khan, and with Varun Sharma in Rooh Afza.
