Imtiaz Ali On First Meeting With Deepika Padukone: "This Is The Girl I Wanted Her For Rockstar"

Apart from their great camaraderie, Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone and director-actor Imtiaz Ali are also well-known for their work chemistry. Every project for which they team up together is a hit. Recently, the director has spilled the bean on how he met the superstar actress for the first time and decided to make her the first choice for his most successful film Rockstar.  

An Unforgettable Meeting

According to his note published on Deepika’s website, right at the first time they met, Imtiaz Ali knew precisely she was the perfect choice to romance Ranbir Kapoor in Rockstar. It was such a pity that they were unable to make it together.

While Deepika made her debut in Shah Rukh Khan starrer Om Shanti Om in 2007, Rockstar was only made many years later, and the leading role of was given to Nargis Fakhri.  However, the pair teamed up in many other films like Love Aaj Kal or Tamasha.

Many things have come and gone since their first meeting, but he will never forget the moment when she got off the car and looked at him as if she knew.

On The Work Front

Deepika is still making headlines for her upcoming film Chhapaak. The film has finished shooting and is about to release next year on January 10th, 2020. Meanwhile, the actress is on the set of sports drama 83’ which features her husband Ranveer Singh in the lead role.
