Met Gala 2019: Meaningful Story Behind Deepika Padukone's Voluminous Pink Gown

Deepika Padukone made waves upon arrival to the red carpet at the 2019 Met Gala in New York. The reigning queen of Bollywood donned a custom Zac Posen dress for the "Camp: Notes on Fashion" theme at the event.

Deepika Padukone, who is one of the highest-paid actresses of Bollywood, turned heads at the 2019 Met Gala in a gorgeous metallic pink Zac Posen gown that features a long layered train flowing behind her.
According to CNBC, fashion designer Zac Posen had to work with a team of engineers to craft over 400 three-dimensional embroidered pieces for Deepika’s jaw-dropping gown.
Many fans of the actress on Twitter said that her look reminded them of a Disney princess or a Barbie doll.
This is the third year the Bollywood diva attended the star-studded event. Last year, Deepika turned up the heat on the red carpet in a stunning Prabal Gurung gown. Talking about the inspiration for the ensemble, Gurung said,
At the 2017 Met Gala, Deepika opted for a white Tommy Hilfiger dress and paired it with Fred Leighton jewelry.
On the professional front, Deepika Padukone is now busy shooting for her upcoming movie Chhapaak. Inspired by the life story of acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal, the film is directed by Meghna Gulzar and also features Vikrant Massey in the lead role.
When asked about the reason why she decided to produce the film, Deepika told Mumbai Mirror,
Apart from Chhapaak, the actress is also working on her next Hollywood film xXx 4, which is the sequel to Vin Diesel starrer xXx: Return of Xander Cage.
