"Chhapaak" Vs "Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior" Box Office Day 1: The Period Drama Gains The Upper Hand

"Chhapaak" Vs "Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior" box office day 1 has been out and it seems that the latter is making more profits.

Ajay Devgn starrer Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior and Deepika Padukone’s film Chhapaak officially locked horns in revenue on Friday and as of now, their collections on the opening day are in.

According to a report of a Boxofficeindia, Chhapaak’s income on day one is Rs 4.75 crore. It was also added by the report that its morning stack was decent and although trade experts anticipated a growth until evening, the movie didn’t pick up that pace.

Meanwhile, the same report added that Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior box office day 1 crossed over Chhapaak with the collection of Rs 16 crore within the first day it was released. State-wise, Ajay Devgn’s movie performed really well in Maharashtra. Also, Tanhaji did a decent job in North, East India. The collections in Andhra Pradesh and Nizam and Andhra Pradesh were equally good.

In terms of their release and scale, both of the movies are big-time different. A prediction was made by trade experts that Chhapaak would start the game with Rs 5-7 crore and Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior would make the earning at more than to Rs 10-14 crore.

As per trade analyst Girish Johar who had previously shared with Hindustan Times,

Helmed by filmmaker Meghna Gulzar, Deepika’s Chhapaak tells the journey of Malti, an acid attack survivor who tries to fight her way back into the normal life. Deepika Padukone acts as the lead role and Chhapaak is made according to the life of Laxmi Aggarwal.

On another hand, Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior is the film that reunites Ajay Devgn, Kajol, and Saif Ali Khan after such a long while. The Om Raut directorial is a period drama traces the tale of military leader Tanhaji Malusare who took charge of the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s army.
