Superstar Ajay Devgn, who was last seen in T-Series Films and Luv Films’ superhit comic-caper De De Pyaar De (2019), is currently busy promoting his much-awaited upcoming film Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior. Also starring Kajol and Saif Ali Khan in principal roles, the period drama is based on the life of Tanhaji Malusare, the military leader of Maratha king Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.

Unsung Warrior series

A couple of days ago, Ajay Devgn revealed that he has decided to create a franchise on unsung warriors of the country. With a franchise on such warriors, the actor-filmmaker aims at taking the stories of their valour and bravery out of the states these heroes belonged to, not only to other states of the country, but also worldwide.

In his latest interview with a popular publication, Ajay Devgn confirmed that he has shortlisted his next story for the franchise. The National Film Award winning actor said that the next film in the franchise will be based on Maharaja Suheldev, who defeated Mahmud of Ghazni’s army in Bahraich (Uttar Pradesh) in the 11th century AD.

For the uninitiated, Ghazni is notorious for demolishing the Somnath Temple. It was Maharaja Suheldev who rebuilt it after defeating his army. Ajay Devgn revealed that the upcoming film will be based on renowned Indian author Amish Tripathi’s upcoming book, which he is currently working on. The superstar and his team have met and discussed the film adaptation with the award-winning author.

After the release of Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior, Ajay Devgn will next be seen in T-Series Films’ Bhuj: The Pride of India, which will be followed by a sports biopic titled Maidaan. The actor is also playing a significant part in filmmaker S.S. Rajamouli’s next multilingual directorial, tentatively titled RRR.
