Even though 2020 almost comes to an end, controversies and troubles still follow Alia Bhatt. After receiving backlash for her latest release Sadak 2, facing the boycott wave from the netizens, Alia chose to keep mum on everything.
She is still occupied with her upcoming projects and wants to focus on her career. She will be next seen in the biographical crime drama Gangubai Kathiawadi.
The film is based on a part of the best-selling book Mafia Queens of Mumbai about the life of a brothel’s madam, Gangubai Kothewali. Alia Bhatt will step into the shoes of this woman.
Helmed by well-known director Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the film is yet another hotly-awaited movie of Alia Bhatt.
Legal trouble
The shooting of the film has not been completed yet but it has already landed in an unwanted legal soup. A case has been filed by Gangubai Kothewali’s son, Babuji Rawji Shah, against Alia Bhatt, the director and the author of the book, Hussain Zaidi.
In the petition, Babuji Rawji Shah alleged the film about his adopted mother and the source material are defamatory. It also infringes upon his right to liberty, self-respect, and privacy.
The man stated that he is constantly ridiculed by people in his neighborhood when the poster of Gangubai Kathiawadi was unveiled.
"Sadak 2" story
It’s the second time in the year 2020, Alia Bhatt’s film faces legal trouble. Earlier, a complaint had been filed against her film crew Sadak 2 at a Maharajganj court. The reason was that the post of the film hurts the sentiments of the Hindu community.
