Amidst some rumors that Shahrukh Khan has withdrawn from Saare Jahaan Se Accha, a film about Indian astronaut Rakesh Sharma's life, Bollywood actor Aamir Khan said that people should wait until the Zero actor make an announcement instead of making assumptions.
Earlier, it was rumored that Shahrukh Khan has walked out of the project because after shooting a sequence of the space center in his last release Zero, he was unsure of undertaking something on the similar lines. In fact, Shahrukh Khan wasn’t the original choice for the film, it was Aamir Khan. However, due to his schedules, Aamir Khan could not make it and suggested Shahrukh’s name for it. The “Baadshah of Bollywood” also thanked Aamir Khan and expressed his excitement when being offered to play a role like this.
Today, when he was questioned about Shahrukh Khan’s withdrawal from the project during one media interaction, Aamir Khan asked back the media, “Isn't Shahrukh Khan doing that film?”. Mr. Perfectionist added,
According to some recent reports, the makers of the Rakesh Sharma biopic have approached Bollywood star Vicky Kaushal to step into Shahrukh Khan's shoes. However, there has not been confirmed officially yet.
Initially, when the rumors of Shahrukh Khan’s exit from Saare Jahaan Se Achcha surfaced online, writer Anjum Rajabali squashed the rumors by calling them fake. The biopic’s producer Ronnie Srewvala shared something enigmatic that hinted about Shahrukh’s opting out of this movie on his Twitter. The producer wrote,
