Salman Khan is celebrating his 54th birthday today. Buzz has it that he was offered the “Satte Pe Satta” remake, but the actor turned it down as he had some issues with the script.

Salman Khan turns 54 today. If early reports are to be believed, the superstar is celebrating his birthday with his family and the entire team of his latest blockbuster Dabangg 3. Helmed by Prabhudheva, Dabangg 3 has been performing extremely well at the box-office ever since its release on 20th December, 2020. It has emerged as Khan’s 15 consecutive Rs. 100 crore grossing film.

According to reports, Salman Khan was recently approached to star in the official remake of the 1982 film Satte Pe Satta, originally starring Amitabh Bachchan and Hema Malini in lead roles. Choreographer-turned-filmmaker Farah Khan is remaking the film for Rohit Shetty’s production house.

Farah Khan approached Salman Khan after she had taken the script to Hrithik Roshan. Things did not work out with Hrithik as, according to reports, Rakesh Roshan asked for a number of changes in the script. Reportedly, Hrithik Roshan said no to the film because he was not quite thrilled about the script.

After Hrithik Roshan, Farah Khan and Rohit Shetty initiated talks with Salman Khan. But if close industry sources are to be believed, the superstar has turned down the offer. A source in the know tells a publication that the offer was indeed made to Khan, but he was not keen despite being told that he was great for playing the character of an elder brother because of his ‘bhai’ image. It did not make much sense to the star. Also, the makers had roped in Anushka Sharma for the female lead. Since the two actors had some issues during the making of Sultan in 2016, it was highly unlikely for them to share the screen space once again in the Satte Pe Satta remake.

Meanwhile, Salman Khan is busy shooting non-stop for his upcoming film Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai. The film also features Disha Patani and Randeep Hooda in lead roles. Directed by Prabhudheva, Radhe releases on Eid 2020.
