Tabu May Reteam With Venkatesh For The Telugu Remake Of “De De Pyaar De”

Tabu is undoubtedly one of the finest actresses that we have today in Indian cinema. The acting great, who has done films in various languages over the past three decades, is currently getting some really interesting roles to play.

After delivering excellent performances in Andhadhun (2018) and De De Pyaar De, Tabu is flooded with several offers from various film industries.

In De De Pyaar De, which is written by Luv Ranjan, Tabu plays a separated wife of superstar Ajay Devgn. The movie also stars gorgeous Rakul Preet Singh who plays Devgn’s current love interest. The twist in the tale is that Ajay’s character is 50 plus, while the character played by Rakul is just 26.

After its humongous success in Bollywood, De De Pyaar De is now set to get a Telugu remake. Well-known South Indian filmmaker Suresh Babu has acquired the remake rights of the film. Southern superstar Venkatesh, who is the brother of Suresh Babu, has been finalized to reprise the role which Ajay Devgn played in the Hindi film.

For one of the female leads, we hear that the makers have initiated talks with seasoned actress Tabu, who played Ajay Devgn’s separated wife in the original romantic comedy. According to reports, Venkatesh and Suresh Babu both are keen to sign the actress for the role as she is fluent in Telugu.

For the uninitiated, Tabu made her debut as the female lead opposite Venkatesh in the 1991 movie Coolie No 1. The film was a huge box-office hit. If the actress agrees to come on board to play the female lead, the project will mark their onscreen reunion after a massive gap of almost three decades.

The Telugu remake of De De Pyaar De, to be produced by Suresh Productions, is expected to begin production towards the end of the year. The hunt for the second female lead is also on. More details are expected to arrive soon.
