Suriya is teaming up with hit filmmaker Vetrimaaran for the first time in his career. According to reports, the makers have titled the upcoming project as “Vaadivaasal”.

Suriya, one of the most popular actors working in the Tamil film industry, was last seen in the K. V. Anand directorial Kaappaan (2019) which turned out to be a moderately successful venture at the box-office. After the release of Kaappaan, the superstar started working on his next Soorarai Pottru which is an action entertainer helmed by Sudha Kongara. Set to hit the marquee on 9th April 2020, Soorarai Pottru is currently in its last leg of shoot. The film also features Aparna Balamural, Mohan Babu, Karunas and Jackie Shroff in important roles.

Suriya has recently announced that he will soon join hands with well-known filmmaker Vetrimaaran for his 40th film. While officially announcing the movie, the makers did not reveal its title, but if buzz on the internet among his fans is anything to go by, the upcoming film has been titled Vaadivaasal. However, an official confirmation about the same is still awaited.

According to reports, Suriya will start shooting for the forthcoming film only after wrapping up his ongoing film Soorarai Pottru. Apart from playing the male lead, the superstar is also co-producing the action entertainer under his production house, 2D Entertainment. In the meantime, Vetrimaaran is planning to complete a comic-caper with Soori. He has reportedly narrated a script to Thalapathy Vijay.

We also hear that well-known music director GV Prakash has been signed on to compose the music for the upcoming film. Prakash, who has composed music for a number of successful films over the years, will be completing his 75th film with Vetrimaaran’s upcoming directorial. The duo has previously delivered a number of box-office hits including Polladhavan (2007), Aadukalam (2011) and the most recent one being Asuran (2019). We hope their next venture turns out to be an even bigger hit at the cash counter.
