#NotMyDeepika: Fans Protest The Actress Against Signing A Film With #MeToo Accused Luv Ranjan

Replying to reports started making rounds that Deepika is indeed a part of Luv's film also starring Ajay Devgn in the lead role, her fans were upset with the news and started the trend - #NotMyDeepika.

Right after Deepika Padukone was spotted at director Luv Ranjan’s home with actor Ranbir Kapoor, which raised rumors making rounds that the actress is indeed a part of Luv's film also starring Ajay Devgn in the lead role, Deepika’s fans have started the #NotMyDeepika hashtag on Twitter.

Indeed, this has not gone well with her fans and this hashtag is a result of angry fans who are urging Deepika Padukone to not work with the Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety filmmaker.

While many Twitter users are calling the actress a hypocrite, many of her fans are asking her to rethink her choice of working with sexual harassment accused. In fact, some of them also went on to highlight how she will be losing thousands of fans if she says yes to the film.

However, many Twitter users are also questioning people who have started the trend #NotMyDeepika since nothing about the film is confirmed yet. Some netizens also pointed out that people are not blaming Ranbir for the same and are just slamming Deepika.

On Friday evening, exes-lover Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor were seen at the filmmaker’s house, leading to speculation that they may be on the cusp of reuniting on screen for the fourth time. While Ranbir has already been announced as one of the co-leads of Luv’s upcoming film, there is no confirmation of Deepika signing the dotted line.

Speaking about Luv Ranjan, the filmmaker was called out by an actress in the #MeToo movement of harassing her sexually when asking her to strip down to her undergarments. The incident reportedly occurred when the director was doing look tests for Pyaar Ka Punchnama. Luv Ranjan, however, denied all allegations and even called it absurd.

On the work front, Deepika Padukone recently wrapped up the schedule of her upcoming film with Vikrant Massey's Chhapaak and post which, she moved on to shoot for her film with husband Ranveer Singh for '83. Chhapaak is slated to hit the screens on January 10, 2020, while Ranveer's '83 will release on April 10, 2020.
