Social media looks like a two-edged sword having the ability to create both famous and infamous stars. Only those whose calmness and judiciousness can overcome. Janhvi Kapoor is one of them.
Recently, in an interview, the actor has openly shared about the negative effects of social media on her on the first moment she stepped into Bollywood and how she overcame them.
"It used to really bother me. I started self-valuing on what they would say. But then, I realised it's virtual reality. Social media can mess you up. But now, I am working on it. I am trying not to get worked up about it. Sadly, there are no repercussions. No one calls them out on it. They would never say these things to you if they met you in real life," Janhvi frankly shared.
Ishaan Khatter, her co-star in Dhadak, is in agreement with her, "It is unreasonable and this social-media hate is increasing by the day. It is problematic, no doubt."
Ishaan and Janhvi's Dhadak performed well on screen, earned Rs 8.71 crore on the first day released. Dhadak was remade from the Marathi language big hit Sairat written about the love between two star-crossed people.
During the shooting of Dhadak, Janhvi suffered a great loss, her mother Sridevi passed away. But, Dhadak 'saved' her after all.
During the exclusive interview with India Today Television's Sushant Mehta, the actor shared, "It hasn't been an easy experience. My work and my family have given me the strength to go on. If it wasn't for coming back to the sets of Dhadak or being able to act, I think it would have been much tougher than what it is now. I am very thankful that I had the opportunity to work in the film and act. It saved me in many ways."
