Simmba’s fifth-weekend performance is reminiscent of the fact that Ranveer's film will find it so difficult to hold its own in days to come. It’s time for it to depart gracefully after an unbeaten run.

The Rohit Shetty directorial has become a roaring performer at the box office since its release date. The film is regarded as Ranveer Singh’s career second-highest grosser and the highest-earning movie in Rohit Shetty’s career. Also, Simmba is 2018’s third-highest earner only after two movies Padmaavat and Sanju.

Bankrolled by Rohit Shetty Pictures and Dharma Productions, Simmba revolves around Sangram "Simmba" Bhalerao, one corrupt police officer hailing from the same town as Singham. However, he decides to follow a more righteous path after tragedy strikes those near him. It also features Sara Ali Khan and Sonu Sood in pivotal roles and hit the cinemas on December 28th last year.

On the professional front, Ranveer Singh’s next film is Zoya Akhtar’s Gully Boy, in which he plays the role of a street rapper. Sara Ali Khan will be next seen in Imitiaz Ali's Love Aaj Kal 2. For director Rohit Shetty, he is all set to work with Akshay Kumar in Sooryavanshi.
