"Kalank" Stars Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan Are Ruling Over Their Contemporaries? Here Are Reports In Numbers!

Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt, who are now reaching the pinnacle of their career, are teaming up in the much-anticipated film Kalank releasing on Wednesday. As Zafar and Roop, they are the center of the drama which is set in the pre-independence period in India. It’s not an overstatement to say they are hands down the most successful ones among their contemporaries and Kalank marks the fourth collaboration of this onscreen pairing.

Here is a look at Alia and Varun’s box office collection tables to see where they rank against their peers such as Shraddha Kapoor, Sidharth Malhotra.

Alia Bhatt

The fact is that Alia has proved her position in the film industry with excellent performances in her films. With several box office hits and a couple of notable awards lined up in her kitty, Alia is one of the highest-paid celebs of B-town. From a star kid who made her debut in Karan Johar’s Student of The Year (2012), after seven years entering into the industry, Alia has 11 films in total.

For the record, Gully Boy is her highest grosser at Rs. 140 crores, followed by Raazi with Rs. 124 crore. For those unversed, Raazi is also the film that helps her win the Filmfare best actress award. However, the 25-year-old actress also has a disappointment to her credit with the flop Shaandaar collecting only Rs 43 crore.

Similar to Alia, Varun is also 11 films old and one of a few actors who is riding high in their career. The 34-year-old actor has four films with the collection more than Rs 100 crore including Dilwale (149), Judwaa 2 (138), Badrinath Ki Dulhania (116), and ABCD 2 (105).

Shraddha Kapoor

Shraddha Kapoor made her debut at the age of 22 with the film Teen Patti in 2010, but until 2013 she had her first blockbuster with the movie Aashiqui 2. With 18 films in her kitty, Shraddha has Stree as her highest grosser with Rs 130 crore and two other films collecting over Rs 100 crore including ABCD 2 (2015) and Ek Villain (2014).

Sidharth Malhotra

Sidharth also jointly debuted in the film Student of the Year with Alia and Varun in 2012. With nine films in his credit, the actor has only one film grossing more than Rs 100 crore.
