According to him, there was an insoluble conflict between the writer MT Vasudevan Nair, and the director Srikumar Menon during together working for the film's storyline and so on. Although BR Shetty’s effort in solving the conflict by giving them a final warning, he couldn’t manage it after all. That leads to the movie’s postpone.

Talking to Indian Express, BR Shetty said, “I am still looking for a good scriptwriter. I will still make it (film on Mahabharata). My commitment is still there. Just as a true Indian, I am making the film to spread our history worldwide in all the languages (sic).”

In 2016, the megastar Mohanlal declared the project Randamoozham, which swept all over the media due to an enormous amount of money - Rs 1,000 crore - poured into it. It is reportedly the greatest budget movie in India of all time, which catches all attention from the media. Unfortunately, the day when we watch it in the cinema seems to be longer than expected cause they need to recruit a new face for the screenwriter position.

Randamoozham is a screen adaption of the award-winning novel of the same name by author MT Vasudevan Nair. It was supposed to shoot in September 2018. According to the original plan, the film will have two parts, with the first release in 2020 and the rest will be launched the following year.

The producer intended to film the movie partially according to the line of the story and would release it in many different languages including English, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, and Telugu. Moreover, they set up to dub in various languages.

However, due to the sad situation which the relationship between the director and the write is like cat and dog, they decided to postpone the project. Even, MT Vasudevan Nair left the project and sued the makers for not keeping his novel's content. The progress of filming is also the cause of his extreme disappointment.
