Shahid Kapoor Gets Upset, Walks Out Of The Show After Being Denied Best Actor Award

It’s raining box office hits for Bollywood in the year 2019 thanks to the out-of-the-box scripts and stellar performances of the cast. When it comes to blockbusters, Shahid Kapoor-starrer Kabir Singh is hands down an indispensable name.

Despite many controversies around the film, Kabir Singh has established itself as a force to be reckoned with at the box office. Shahid Kapoor’s performance was also applauded by many. For the record, the film collected Rs 280 crore which turns out to be an outstanding figure.

It’s not far off the mark to say Shahid’s profile has been skyrocketed since the film released, so he was promised to win the Best Actor Popular Award at a recent award night. However, a major change has occurred at the last moment and the star got upset.

Surprisingly, the award was later presented to Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh and the Kabir Singh star could be spotted walking out of the event and even denied to perform.

According to a close source published in Pinkvilla, Shahid will have a performance at the show as he was getting the award. The actor had even rehearsed for his performance too. However, the source added, the star lost his cool because of the unprofessional move of the organizers.

On the work front, post-Kabir Singh, Shahid Kapoor will be starring in the film Jersey which is the remake of Telugu namesake hit. This Hindi version will be helmed by Gowtam Tinnanuri and he is also the director of the original one.

The film is about a gifted but failed cricketer Arjun who takes the plunge to come back in his late 30s and play for the national team to fulfill his boy’s wish.
