After the news of the actor supporting 25,000 workers, many have wondered how he was actually doing that when shoots are delayed due to coronavirus lockdown and those who make a living from a day-to-day basis are most affected.

A Mid-Day report unveils that Salman Khan has made a request for the 25,000 Federation Indian Cine Employees workers’ bank accounts and the superstar will assist them with their monthly salary or even more.

Ashok Dubey, FWICE’s General Secretary has confirmed the news. He shared that a number of Salman production house officials contacted them on Saturday and asked about the daily wage workers, to which he answered that they make around Rs 15,000 per month. He also said that they informed the actor wanted to know 25,000 workers’ account details and would sponsor them as well as contributing Rs 5 lakh each month while providing for their medical expenses.

Salim Khan, veteran screenwriter and Salman’s father declined to give details about Salman’s direct contribution. He stated that he could speak of other things his sons have done for workers and staff. In his statement, the writer revealed the principle of their family: Humara paisa jahan jaye, kisike kaam aye (transl. our money should help people).

Hence, his sons are both taking care of the staff and their building’s security guards. The employees have been requested to stay at home and their salaries along with other needs have been taken care of.

The movie industry has witnessed big-time help in this pandemic crisis. Besides Salman Khan, actor Akshay Kumar had contributed a whopping amount of Rs 25 crore to Relief Fund of the Prime Minister, Varun Dhawan donated Rs 40 lakh, designer Sabyasachi gave Rs 1.5 crore, Prabhas donated Rs 4 crore and Kapil Sharma contributed Rs 40 lakh.
