Janhvi Kapoor, the elder daughter of late iconic actress Sridevi and filmmaker Boney Kapoor, is one of the most sought-after-actresses from the current crop. She made her silver screen debut with Dharma Productions’ Dhadak (2018).
She currently boasts of a number of exciting projects in her hand. Apart from Bollywood, Janhvi Kapoor has been offered several films from the South Indian film industry also. But the actress is yet to take up any project from down South.
Recently rumours emerged that Janhvi Kapoor is being considered to romance Telugu cinema heartthrob Vijay Deverakonda in filmmaker Jagannadh Puri’s next directorial venture Fighter. However, if sources in Bollywood are to be believed, the actress is not planning to do South Indian films anytime soon.
“She has been approached, but there is no indication of her being in Fighter. Janhvi has previously said no to plum assignments with Mahesh Babu and Ram Charan Teja in Telugu. She has to have something to do in the script before she agrees to make her debut in Telugu cinema, and Fighter has little for the girl to do. Also, the way the heroines are projected in Puri’s cinema makes Janhvi and her father uncomfortable. In any case, she has just started in Bollywood. It’s too early for her to go South,” a source informs an Indian daily.
Meanwhile, Janhvi Kapoor is presently busy shooting for her next film Roohi-Afza with Rajkummar Rao. She will soon start shooting for the final schedule of Dharma Productions’ much-awaited film Kargil Girl, which will be the first biopic for her. Her next projects include Takht and Dostana 2.
Excluding Roohi-Afza, which is being bankrolled by Maddock Films, Kapoor’s all upcoming projects are with Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions, the banner which launched her in Bollywood with Dhadak.
