The film not only marks the return of Deepika to the silver screen after more than one year of hiatus but also witnesses a new position of the actress as a producer for the first time.
During the launch event of the film’s title track, Deepika cleared the air on the financial support of husband Ranveer Singh landing in her debut production. A reporter asked her whether or not she has husband Ranveer in her corner when it comes to the money investigation in this project.
The superstar and the crowd burst into laughter after hearing this question and she affirmed that it’s her own money. Director Meghna Gulzar went on to say that it’s not true when assuming that Ranveer has put his money in Chhapaak.
Earlier, rumors about remuneration were making the rounds shortly after the release of the film trailer as Laxmi wasn’t happy with the remuneration she got initially. She shared a screenshot of a report claiming her unhappy with the pay she gets for sharing her story. She said that it’s fake news and officially stopped any speculation around it.
