Anushka Sharma is counted as one of the most successful actresses of Bollywood, but it has been more than half-a-year since her fans have not seen her on the silver screen. The talented actress was last seen in Red Chillies Entertainment’s Zero (2018) opposite superstar Shah Rukh Khan. The ambitious movie tanked at the box-office and since then the actress has not signed any new film.
But if the fresh buzz is to be believed, Anushka Sharma might sign her next soon. She has reportedly been approached to play the female lead in the official remake of the 1982 film Satte Pe Satta. Interestingly, Anushka Sharma is not the first actress whose name has been associated with the said project. In the past few months, almost every leading actress’ name has been linked to the Satte Pe Satta remake.
After a series of names cropped up for the role that was originally played by Hema Malini in the original film, a source close to the development of the film reveals to an Indian daily that Anushka Sharma is in consideration for the same role. However, there is no official confirmation on the same.
“Anushka has been approached. But in the meantime, the makers are waiting for a response from Hrithik Roshan as well. Anushka, who was last seen as Aafia Yusufzai Bhinder in the film Zero, has not yet given a nod to the film and will wait for the makers to make the final offer once everything is in place,” says the source.
The remake is believed to be the same project for which Farah Khan and Rohit Shetty recently collaborated. It will be for the first time when two of the most successful creative forces of the industry have joined hands together. Farah Khan will call the shots for the film.
Just like the female lead, several leading male actors’ names have also been popped up for the role originally played megastar Amitabh Bachchan. From Shah Rukh Khan to Hrithik Roshan, many names have been linked to the remake.
