Who Is The Winner Of "The Voice India": Sumit Saini And His Journey

First aired on February 3rd on Star Plus, "The Voice India 2019" has been a center of attention for quite some time. Now the show has come to an end, you might wonder who is the winner of "The Voice India".

It is Sumit Saini who has been announced as the grand winner of The Voice India. Let’s look back at his journey at The Voice India Season 3.

Our 27-year-old singer came from Sadhaura, Haryana. Sumit started singing at the very small age of three. Then he continued to nurture his musical talents under the instruction of Mohan Sharma and Sagar Ali.

Although Sumit has been on the stage many times during school and college time, this is his first time showcasing his talent to the public in The Voice India.

From his earlier days at The Voice India 2019 Season 3…

The Voice winner Sumit Saini opened the first episode with an amazing cover of the song Kinna Sohna Tenu Rab Ne Banaya, which got him three “I WANT YOU” buttons. Sumit then chose to go with coach Harshdeep Kaur for the rest of his The Voice journey.

Harshdeep Kaur is a recognized Indian playback singer well-known for her Bollywood Hindi, Sufi and Punjabi songs. Sumit promised to improve and shine his best with the help of the famous female singer.

During an interview with The IndianExpress, the winner of The Voice India shared that he wanted to join Harshdeep Kaur’s team even before that, given his admiration for her singing career. In the next round, Sumit Saini and Deepak Rana went against each other in a Piya Re performance.

Coach Harshdeep chose Sumit to be the winner. Both contestants had delivered beautiful performance to the audience.

The Super Battle round involved three to four contestants of the same team competing with one another. They would perform individually with a song of their choice. Sumit Saini sang Saanu Ik Pal Chain Na Aave, going against three other teammates: Hargun Kaur, Siram Bhardwaj, and Shahzad Ali.

Only Sumit Saini and Hargun Kaur were saved for the Grand Gala show. The Grand Gala of The Voice India is a non-elimination round, and Sumit Saini blessed us with his soulful voice in his performance of Jag Ghoomeya from the 2016 Indian film Sultan.

… to the final rounds of the show

During the Live Show, Sumit pulled off the song O Re Piya wonderfully and immediately got to the semifinal. Sumit maintained his top position and became the first one to enter the finale. The singer himself was very humble. He once shared that he wasn’t sure he would win the show as all four finalists deserved it. Sumit was confident in his singing, but not once he felt conceited. And on the night of May 4th, Sumit Saini became the champion of The Voice India 2019.

His friends and family showered him with love and congratulations. Even the famous A.R.Rahman gave him the “Jai Ho Performance” compliment. It was a real pleasure and a splendid experience for him as a young singer. The coach Harshdeep Kaur also offered to have Sumit accompanied on her world tour. Sharing about his future plans, Sumit Saini will continue singing and challenge himself in Bollywood.

Having won the first prize of The Voice India, Sumit Saini has a long way ahead.

Beating several other contestants, Sumit Saina is the new winner of the most famous singing competitions in India. Sumit brought home the precious trophy and a handsome amount of prize money of Rs 25 lakh.

Sumit’s journey with The Voice 2019 ended but his singing career has just begun. We congratulated him on his win in the show, and hope all the best for this young potential singer.
