Ramya Krishnan Portrays J Jayalalithaa In Her Web Series "Queen"

The internet is divided between the look of Ramya Krishnan in Queen and Kangana Ranaut in Thalaivi.

A film and a web series based on the life of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, J Jayalalithaa is in the anvil. Actress Ramya Krishnan will portray the role of Tamil Nadu's much respected leader. The trailer of Queen was released on social media platforms while the entire web series will be released on MX Player. The release of trailer also marks death anniversary of late J Jayalalithaa. Netizens are praising Ramya Krishnan for showcasing her true acting skills to portray the political leader.

The trailer shows childhood of J Jayalalithaa as a topper of the school after which she has to quit her education. She becomes a superstar in the South Indian film industry at a very tender age. Being in the spotlight for her acting skills, she joined politics and was referred as Thalaivi. Her influence was such that people worshiped her like a goddess. Several temples and statues were built as a mark of respect for the leader. Her legacy will be showcased via the web series titled Queen.

Queen has been directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon and Prasath Murugesan. The web series will be streamed in three languages, Tamil, Hindi and Bengali from December 14. The multi-star cast includes Anikha Surendran, Anjana Jayaprakash, Indrajith Sukumaran, Vanitha Krishna Chandran, Viji Chandarsekaran and Sonia Aggarwal. 

Meanwhile, actress Kangana Ranaut is all set to portray the role of J Jayalalithaa in her next movie Thalaivi. Recently, a teaser was released on social media platforms by the makers of the movie. However, the filmmakers faced severe criticism on the internet for not making justice to the character. Comparisons were made between Kangana Ranaut and Ramya Krishnan over the role. But the internet is gaga about Ramya Krishnan portraying the role more perfectly than the national award winner. Well, it is the audience to decide if Ramya Krishnan or Kangana Ranaut made justice to the role.
