Karanvir Malhotra Opens Up About His Web Series "The Forgotten Army"

Karanvir Malhotra was rejected after auditions even after being shortlisted for the role.

Karanvir Malhotra after his digital debut with Netlix Original series, Selection Day is now featuring in Amazon Prime Video's The Forgotten Army-Azaadi Ke Liye. The mini series has been inspired by Kabir Khan's experiences released in 1999. Karanvir Malhotra will play the role of a young photo journalist. In an interview with a leading entertainment portal, Malhotra revealed about how digital medium has a wide reach of audience and his experience in the film industry.

Sharing his thoughts on OTT platforms, Karanvir Malhotra said that he has a theatrical background and has been a theatre artist. So he has always to work on projects which is more about the role and story line. Looking at the current way digital medium is growing, he said that his friends in Australia do not watch Hindi films but they catch up shows and films on Netflix or Amazon. He feels that he is blessed that digital medium has seen a huge boom.

Karanvir Malhotra was to debut his digital series with The Forgotten Army - Azaadi Ke Liye but due to its delay,he made his debut with Selection Day. He recently finished shooting for a short feature film. He came to Mumbai for a film but these web series happened in between and  he is not sure if the short film will have a theatrical or a digital release.

When asked if he faced any difficulties in finding roles, to which he said that he had auditioned for both web series. But there have been instances in which he was rejected despite being shortlisted. But he feels that it is a part and parcel of the business and he has no hard feelings about the rejections. He is grateful to the directors for liking him and his work. Critics have so far liked Karanvir Malhotra for his acting skills and we await for his further projects.
